This year, the Azusa Pacific University Men’s Chorale has the honor of being invited to perform at some of Hawaii’s most prestigious venues, including the famous and historic Kawaiaha’o Church, the Arizona Memorial Museum, and the state capitol, featuring special performances with Honolulu’s premiere groups and entertainers. An auditioned large ensemble open to all male students at Azusa Pacific University, Men’s Chorale is known for its pursuit of musical excellence. The membership is comprised of men from all disciplines and majors offered at APU.
Under the direction of Harold Clousing, the 70 member Men’s Chorale performs classic choral literature, Gospel songs, folk songs, modern arrangements of traditional spirituals, and contemporary Christian music. Each year, the Chorale performs commissioned works by faculty, music students, and contemporary composers, including Howard Helvey and Joseph Martin.
